LEAF is making Christian education accessible to families struggling with affordability.

LEAF donors are changing lives by making Christian education an affordable option for LCA families! LEAF awarded more than $170,000 to 165 students representing 82 LCA families for the 2025-26 school year! 

LEAF donors support families struggling to provide a quality, Christ-centered education for their children. The Ohio Donation Tax Credit allows Ohio residents a choice as to how the first (up to) $750 of their income tax is spent. You can let the politicians decide or choose to bless families by making private, Christian education more affordable!

Every SGO in Ohio is required to award at least 51% of awarded funds to families below 300% of the Federal Poverty Level. A disappointing trend is that many schools with influence over an SGO are directing as much as the remaining 49% of funds to the school as a block grant. LEAF believes this practice betrays donor intent and the mission for which Scholarship Granting Organizations were created; to make Christian education accessible to families struggling with affordability.

We appreciate your continued support of LEAF where 100% of our funds are awarded to LCA families seeking to afford Christian education.

Credit-eligible donations can be made through April 15th (or the date which you file your Ohio return) of the following year. This allows donors whose tax liability is less than $750 the privilege of calculating their actual tax before donating to LEAF. It also shortens the time between donating and receiving a refund from the State of Ohio (when donating to LEAF results in overpayment of tax owed).

You will receive a receipt immediately when you donate online and a receipt is generated within 10 days if you donate by mailing a check and include your email. Be sure to indicate the tax year for your donation.

Keep your receipt! You will need to include a copy when you file your Ohio return. Remember to claim the tax credit on your IT-1040 (see page 7, number 15).
